Who We Are
A Distinct Identity
The mission of Higher Ground is to connect children, youth and families in Boston’s underserved communities to existing solutions and services that continue to improve, avoid duplication, and empower and transform lives from cradle to career by engaging community-based organizations and key stakeholders in an effective and efficient service delivery model.
What We Do
Here at Higher Ground, we are driven by a single goal: To do our part in making the world a better place for all.
Since 2010, Boston’s Higher Ground has been a catalyst for positive change for children and families in some of Boston’s most vulnerable neighborhoods. With your help, Higher Ground is:
Taking a lead role with the City of Boston and other partners to launch a pilot program to house homeless families of 165 students attending six target schools in Roxbury and Dorchester.
Ensuring more than 200 local children have access to safe and clean early childhood facilities and their caregivers have access to support and services they need.
Mobilizing parents from district, charter and parochial schools to form a coalition of local school parents to advocate together for improved educational services for all children regardless of the school they attend.
Harnessing the collective impact of 20 partners to coordinate their efforts together across Boston neighborhoods.
